CERAME-UNIE Activity
Rue de la Montagne 17 B-1000 Brussels |
Cerame-Unie is the sole representative of the European ceramics industry with the European authorities, which allows it to mobilise the full weight of the industry in its contacts with the decision makers in Brussels.
It deals with classical EU issues such as the completion of the internal market, the removal of obstacles to international trade and the development of product standards.
As a consequence of the increased scope of EU legislative initiatives the Cerame-Unie secretariat has intensified its network of contacts with representatives of the EU Commission (especially its DG Enterprise & Industry) and the European Parliament, which has acquired an important role in the EU decision making process.
Cerame-Unie co-operates closely with UNICE, the European employers' federation, and other sectoral organisations of the European industry, as CEPMC, the Council of European Producers of Materials for Construction. It also is active in SEAP, the Society of European Affairs Professionals, in order to defend the interests of the European affairs profession.
For its members Cerame-Unie provides a continuous flow of information (circulars letters; the "Courrier") on EU policy developments, which are relevant to the industry. At the regular meetings of its statutory bodies and its member federations common positions are established on the issues most vital to the ceramics industry.
