SOCIAL POLICY

Cérame-Unie’s Social Committee screens the proposals for new EU social legislation, which could have an impact on our industry.

Most important are the Directives on health & safety protection in the workplace. Issues such as the manual handling of heavy loads and the setting of "occupational exposure limits" for silica and ceramic fibres are being dealt with.

In addition the Social Committee is preparing comparative documents on labour cost developments, and its members exchange information on collective wage negotiations in the sectors.
