20 May 2011 - Press release on carbon leakage for bricks and roof tiles

Climate Change Committee approves the Commission decision proposing to add bricks and roof tiles to the list of sectors exposed to the risk of carbon leakage. 

At the meeting of the Climate Change Committee of yesterday, Member States’ representatives approved the draft Commission decision which proposes to add the sector "brick, tiles and construction products, in baked clay" to the existing list of sectors exposed at significant risk of carbon leakage. Cerame-Unie welcomes the vote on the draft decision, which is now subject to the scrutiny of the Council and European Parliament for a period of three months.
