At the Cerame-Unie annual General Assembly all member federations discuss horizontal issues, and decide on the action programme. Positions on horizontal issues, which are common to the whole of the industry, are prepared by the Cerame-Unie Environmental and Social Committees, and its Chemical Agents Working Group.

The Cerame-Unie member federations have their separate meetings, which as a rule are held twice a year, and deal with issues proper to their sector, such as standardisation, trade policy and market developments. Statistics are being compiled at the European level with the help of their national associations.

The strategy of Cerame-Unie is determined by the Board of Presidents, composed of the Cerame-Unie President and the eight chairmen of the member federations. The Committee of Directors, chaired by the Secretary-General of Cerame-Unie, in which the directors of the national associations and the European federations meet, ensures a mutual information exchange and the coordination of the actions and measures to be taken.
